Trash, Recycling & Yard Waste Collection Alert
January 2, 2018
ESI will collect live Christmas trees on Wednesdays during the first two weeks of January from curbside trash customers. Leesburg residents can put their live Christmas trees at the curb for recycling collection in January. The Town’s trash collection contractor, ESI, will collect live Christmas trees on Wednesday, January 3, and Wednesday, January 10, 2018, in all quadrants of town. Residents should prepare their trees for collection, using these tips:
· Remove all decorations. Check carefully for items hidden behind thicker branches or limbs.
· Remove tinsel, fake snow, angel hair and garlands.
· Remove all lights.
· Remove all twine, metal or plastic ties, and string.
· Remove stands and bases.
· Do not place trees in plastic tree disposal bags.
· Place trees at the curb the night before collection day.
Before January 3 and after January 10, town crews will collect live trees during brush collection, as long as tree trunks are less than 6 inches in diameter. Trees must be placed at the curb by Sunday evenings for collection that week.
